Buckdancers Choice Music Company has been serving the musical community of Southern Maine for 30 years. We are known for our knowledgeable staff, our repair facilities, and our large and diverse inventory. We have offered lessons for almost as long as we have been in business. Our latest school of music is located on the store premises at 248 St. John Street in Portland.

We have 8 teaching studios and offer individual instruction on electric and acoustic guitar, electric and standup bass, banjo, mandolin, violin, viola, cello, harmonica and ukulele. We also have an ensemble room where first time bands and weekend warriors receive instruction and coaching from our teaching staff.

Private instruction is available for acoustic guitar, electric guitar, electric bass, standup bass, violin, viola, cello, mandolin, banjo, and ukulele. We teach absolute beginners to consummate professionals in styles ranging from rock, jazz, blues, country, classical, bluegrass, and more.

Private lessons are $90/month for weekly half hour lessons. One off lessons are available by special arrangement with your teacher for $25/half hour and $50/hour.
